this is a grate desktop app, I love that you can add stuff to it but does anyone know some good mods for it ???

(1 edit) (+1)

Get the one where the goose will explode so you can get rid of the goose, its more useful than you think :)

i got mine from this site: https://desktopgooseunofficial.github.io/ResourceHub/mods/explore/mods.html

(1 edit) (+1)

If anyone is having trouble "killing" goosie, open task manager and end task. I had 4 and now i have 1.

I am scared, cause I hear he is a virus, is this safe to download?

This is why I think this is a virus https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_ScpiUqjJM

Not a virus

the goose is not a virus, all the videos that showcase is show the full functionality, it doesn't do anything else other than what you see.

no files are deleted from your computer,  no damage is done to your computer, nothing is changed. it is just a goose

take most of the videos that you see claiming that it is a virus with a pinch of salt. they use the word virus as it gets more clicks than saying something like "I got a goose for my computer"

perhaps also look at the description of the video, do you really think large youtubers are going to post a link to a virus in the description of their video.

I've downloaded it, but it isn't working! I have the word document named "read me! honk" in my files, and it should be working, but there is no goose to be found :( does it take a minute to pop up, or is it something I'm doing wrong?

  • Go to your downloads folder (extracted there by default)
  • search for a folder called "DesktopGoose v0.3" (will be towards the bottom of the folder if sorted by date)
  • click on the file in that colder with a green icon called "GooseDesktop.exe"

i want a linux port so bad....

Where can I download mods?

Show post...

Site for get mods: Explore the ResourceHub mods | Desktop Goose’s Resource Hub (desktopgooseunofficial.github.io)

steps to install and active mods:
1- download the mod
2- copy the mod folder
3- get into goose folder and go to assets > mods
4- paste the mod folder into mods folder
5- go to goose folder ang open the config file in notepad
6- set the "EnableMods=False" to "EnableMods=True"

i helped you?
if yes, np
if no, srry

you can get mods from here: https://desktopgooseunofficial.github.io/ResourceHub/mods/explore/mods.html

  • download the mod that you want
  • go into the goose folder
  • go to assets/mods
  • create a new folder in the mods folder called something unique such as "hatmod" that makes sense to you (this does not have to be the same as the mod name but it just helps)
  • get the files inside the zip file and paste them into the folder that you just created
  • ensure that the folder structure looks similar to this "assets/mods/MODNAME/modname.dll" (there will always be a .dll file) and not like "assets/mods/MODNAME/MODNAME/modname.dll"
  • go to the folder again and open the file called "config.ini" in notepad or similar
  • finally change the enable mods line from "EnableMods=False" to "EnableMods=True"

a message should then pop when you try to run the goose asking if you want to run mods, click yes

if this doesn't work then please visit the discord support server

"Join the Discord community at discord.gg/xZFRmPT" (taken from the description of the goose)

Cool!

If you don't want it to steal your mouse, then here are the instructions :

  • Open the original Desktop Goose folder
  • Click on the config file
  • Set the "Task_CanAttackMouse=" to False (Make sure the F in False is capital)

That's it. Now it's friendly!

i installed this the second time and i don't see my goose

You can  turn it off actually!

The best ga..........Challenge

i love  the goose its soo nice

Oh my life, this is so adorable!
I love my lil' Goose.
I made it so they can't steal my mouse so hopefully no stress. But this is so, so cute. I'm smiling ear to ear! This has really made my day haha <3
Love the kind notes Goose writes too.
I'm looking forward to figuring out how to customise them (if I can)! :D

Is it possible for the goose to drag up images from a removable hard drive or other file storage locations?

Show post...

no, the goose get images from the goose assets

see it in: goose folder > assets > images

how do i do it

Show post...

open goose folder, and execute the .exe file

to close the goose, hold Esc or execute the "close goose .bat" file

On my Macbook, the Goose grabbed my mouse and ran in circles partly offscreen, and I spent 15 minutes trying to fix it with just my keyboard, and nothing on here worked. When I held "power" to shut down the computer and didn't reopen any apps, the goose went away.

BUG FIX:

I have downloaded the mac version, and i keep getting a bug where he'll grab my mouse in the bottom right-ish corner and he will run in circles and not let go, resulting in having to restart my computer :/

EDIT: Actually that happens for just the edges of the screen sometimes :/

other than that, this is amazing, and he is so cute and also annoyingggggg :)
